Omar Ashour Clarifies the Idea of Skeletons Debut Single Solo
Omar Ashour (lead vocals, guitars, and producer) performs the solo from Ostinato, the debut single of the promising Egyptian fusion group Skeletons

Ashour expressed that the solo was originally designed to be played with a synth/keyboard, but after some input from his close circle, he decided to change it up: "At first...I felt that the piece was going in a slightly more electronic direction and that a synth-lead sound would fit here. Upon someone's suggestion, I decided to switch up the synth with lead guitar and practised improvising with it over and over during the last half of the piece. The rawness of the lead guitar brought something different and organic to the table."

He assures that the solo was built on improvisation: "Improvisation is a language, rich and deep in its expressivity, where the inspiration for lines happens within a short window of time. Its ideas are generated from the need to act in a moment where all plans become obsolete. From this pressure, unique ideas may come. This was the case with Ostinato.”

Skeletons are busy working on their music video for Ostinato, as well as planning big releases to be announced later this year. Stay tuned...
